Greenless Back-To-Back Wins @ Loft Contest!

To coincide with the outrageous popularity of The Dark Knight, I chose to debut Batman's Bad Day at The Loft Cinema's July installment of First Friday Shorts.  The short faced some stiff competition from Shaun Clayton and his film, Discount Assassin.  The popularity of The Batman surged past the hitman flick, and the rest of the competition for that matter, and took home the $200 prize.  It was great to see some of the cast and crew at the screening.

When August rolled around I was expecting the Loft's seats to be filled with UA students returning to campus after the summer break.  I was wrong...  but because of that, I'm now $200 richer!  I don't know what it is about the FFS event, but I always feel weird if I show up without anything to screen myself.  At about 7pm I decided that I needed to put something together for the show - a few minutes later I was pounding away at the Photoshop and Premiere trying to pump something out.  The resulting 30 second short, Public Service Announcement, turned out pretty well...  for what it was, at least.  I doubt the film would have had any real chance at winning the prize during a 'normal' month, but with only 2 other films in competition...  and with both of them getting gonged...  I kinda won by default.  The film played well, and that's what's important.  The $200 is just icing.  Well, it was a shotgun microphone from Bookman's this time, but you get what I'm saying.
